Pre Cat Heater Blower

After being in thenick's Chim, I noticed that he was actually getting quite a considerable amoutn of heat blowing from the vents. Now mine is rubbish in comparison.
If you have the engine off and listen very carefully you can just about hear it running on the first click and then a little bit on the second, it's quite aparent on the third click. But still nothing seems to come out of the windscreen vents really. With the engine on then you can't hear anything.
Is the Pre Cat blower different. I was told that the Griff heater and blower was much better than my S3, but this one is pretty much rubbish.
Is there a way that I can check if it's getting full voltage or something without taking the dash out. I could really do with good heating. Well any heating actually.

Is this in the Chim or in your Griff Wildfire?
That is a perfect description of what I can hear in my Griff. But as for heating - cuddle up to the transmission tunnel mate.

I know that feeling only TOO well 
I found I improved things somewhat (don't go getting all excited though, that's relatively speaking) by fiddling with the leather? bit of fabric covering the inlet opening way down at the front of the inner wing. Hands and knees job with a bit of white cotton showed me which way all the air was moving and I got a bit of an improvement by messing about and resealing it.
Have a look through some posts from Anthonyj - he has done wonders with his heating, albeit at considerable cost to his poor fibreglass-shredded hands !

AS Ian says I have improved mine fantastically(even though I do say so myself), but its been hard and fiddly.
It involved removing the heater box too.
