alternative engines?

has anybody fitted an alternative engine in their griff - i.e not a rv8? ive seen the ls1 engine in the tuscan, but nothing in a griff - pics would help if there are any?

There was a twin turbo Griff about, but I believe it was fairly expensive bespoke project involving things such as having a bonnet scoop to try and keep the alternator cool!

As a relatively sensible option and in case you didn't know, TVR Power are working on superchargers for the RV8

I've got cast iron manifolds under way for a twin turbo so it's viable and needn't be to expensive if you leave the engine stock and run low boost. That would save a huge amount of work. I was involved with a TT griff some years back. CR was lowered by fitting buick 300 heads and a single turbo was mounted up front where the headers joined.

sadly the car caught fire on the motorway (internal wiring I believe) and was a write-off.

the engine was nicked from the scrappy within hours and has since surfaced with a legimate owner someway down the line.

the original owner got his money OK from insurance. makes a change!

it was a monster an'all!
