The aftermath...

I've had my Audi for about eighteen months now, and while I've never been deliriously happy with it, it's been fine - just a bit dull. Sensible, reliable, comfortable, economical, and many other things ending in -all.
Today it struck me what a fine car it is - at what it's supposed to be!
I've been driving my (new to me) Griffith for three days and what a shock! Perhaps not in the literal sense as I've tried and tested a fair few over the last couple of months, but every time I squeeze the throttle the instant roar and kick in the back (that just keeps kicking)... I don't have the words - but I'm sure you know what I mean. I'm involved in driving for the first time in years! It was a little wet on the way home last night so I had to think about conditions, other drivers, pedestrians, etc. as well as take into account my limited experience and skill set. Joy!
And I now appreciate the Audi - it's nothing more than a tool, a method of transport - I shouldn't have expected anything more. Now the Griff - That's a motor!

i had the exact same feeling 3 years ago after a long love affair with A6 Quattro's. Jesus H Christ.... Will you not do that...

Glad to hear you are enjoying the Griff so much though. Just wait until the summer when you've got the roof down, sun on your face, trees flashing past and you can hear every sound around you - well, anything louder than the exhaust!

I've noticed that already; on Sunday I had it off (the roof!), and even the horsey-types waved and thanked me as I slowed to pass them - it must be something to do with them being able to see the driver instead of another tintop.
