Starter motor broken?

Some advice needed please...
I started having the hot start problem a few months back. Fernhurst fitted the mod kit which sorted it out for a month or so. I have now begun to have problems starting the car again, sometimes even from cold.
I am guessing that it is the starter motor that has gone? If anyone else has any other ideas could they please let me know before I book it in to get it replaced.

What kit and where did they take the power from ? There are a few cases where it was the immobiliser causing the hot start problem. It is easy to confirm if it is, if it is the normal kit i can supply details. Also, sometimes the arcing has shortened the solenoid contacts beyond the "stroke". In this case a new solenoid is only bit to replace.
