Rear Lights

Has anyone got a picture of these lights on a Griff? Have done a search but all the pic links are dead. there was some talk in one of the threads that one style did not fit at all, was it these?

If red is slow, how fast is green? I guest red does mean stop lol

Hi

They all need a bit of fettling to fit even the originals so if they are designed to fit a 90's Cavalier they should be fittable with effort to a Griffith IMO.

Personally I think that a nice shiny new pair of originals look the best - originality and all that. Find a Vauxhall dealer keen to shift old stock and you could bag a bargain - say 10 quid a pair in the case of one of my TVRCC mates.

Ian at Sportmotive was working on some new tail-lights last time I spoke to him.

I realy dont like the original lights, a big part of the reason why my first Griff was an SE with the later lights. May be worth hanging on then?

Have to say I prefer the originals.... they're not stunning but probably because they're original they just look right. Having said that I like the idea of lights recessed into the bodywork.

Anyway, the above light might look a bit like this??

Nice work! Hmmm, I recon they would look better if the black plastic was colour coded, not sure wether you could get the clear cover off?

I have fitted similar to that but I have smoked them. Be sure to buy the ones with a flat plastic surface. If you get a light tint spray for windows spray a couple of coats on til you get the desired tint. Then leave thoroughly to dry. Spray over with clear lacquer and leave to fully dry between coats. Buff up and prestot this then gives you a similar to Chim and newer Tivs. Got some pics somewhere if anyone interested give me a shout.

Yep, like that look, so window tinting spray? Ive got some spray for light, asume that will do the same job

they were a new item on an ebay auction got them for about £70 ish i think. there is a knack to the spraying of tinter have to be vertical and create a wave and let run off evenly then let dry for a day.

Got the lights now, did you specifically use window tint rather than the tail light tint? Any other tips?

Look good in the flesh, I feel the same way about the 80s Cavalier lights. Wouldnt put these on unless dark tinted though, not unlike the afterburners that came with my Chim.

Its all about personal taste. The cavalier ones are now over 15 years old and never looked good on them. Times have changed Things have moved on. As for the naff front indicators off some old tank/ambulance I cant wait to get rid of them. Guess some people are stuck in the past!!
