I only know about the speed sensor. On mine it seems to disappear upwards theough a hole in the bodywork, then snake its way under the centre part of the T shaped cover bit on the transmission tunnel all the way to the dash loom.

I *think* that superflex sells poly bushes suitable for the GKN diff, but I can't remember. I guess I'll find out next week myself

Mine is Chim, but I dont think there is much difference in build. From personal experience:

Trigger wheel on rear of prop shaft, sensor above 2 round pins are fixed with silicone to wiring. I made up a fly lead and connector (so sensor can be turned!) - looks like there should be a proper plug on to the sensor but mine didnt have it. Cable goes up to under centre console and runs near handbrake lever to dash loom. Pretty straight forward direct connection to the speedo (ETB).

Bushes are available from dealer / Indie in metallastic or poly forms. I could not get poly bush to work on the the lower bushes ~ there is nothing to restrain them & no room for a collar (these are different from later cars) ~ had to switch back to metelastic after a touch of eye rolling from RT. Poly bush in the awkward upper mount is fine.

Pack it with grease, not quite full, well worth doing the prop UJ's they are only abot £4 each from a bearing shop. The UJ's can be greased via nipples, just fill till grease comes out (the closest end!). I used red silicone based grease, this seams to last longer according to experts... Even LR specify fit once for life rather than periodic changes.

Out of interest did either of yours have the cooling fins on the back?

Dave

Favourite job changing UJ's big vice, big hammer, nothing like it...

Nah, its easy enough you can press them out if your vice is strong enough, just need suitable strong sockets & circlip pliers. It is one job I always enjoy though
