Aluminium Dial surrounds ?

Hi, just got my Griff 400, and would like to upgrade the dash as it looks a bit past its best. I have seen lots of pics of Griffs with ally bezels round the instrument dials - looked on Leven but couldnt see them there, Does anyone know where I could get a set...
Also do those Leven ally button upgrades work ?

yes the leven buttons,& all their stuff works great, give them a call about the bezels.

they don't do instrument bezels (I asked a couple of weeks ago) but if you do find someone that does, post it on here as the are a lot of us that would like some.

I think you'll find these are the same as the dials on the S and some of those chaps have polished them back to bare ali'.

The black dials can be polished back to shiny aluminium.
Mine have been and I've posted about this before I think.
I'll see if I can find a pic but don't understimate the work involved, I polished a replacement clock dial a while ago and I'd guess it took me all day.

The instruments on the precat are recessed in the dash and so you'll need to take the dash out and remove all the instruments to either polish or paint. It's easy enough, but time-consuming and fiddly.

Yep dash is coming out already as I've bought a carbon one to replace the wooden one so thought now might be a good time to do it. Don't fancy a day polishing per dial though

I'm not sure if these would fit, or how the chrome finish would look, but Holden vintage and classic parts do replacement dial rings:-

I don't suppose you're open to offers for the old one are you? Are you replacing the small, lower bit with the heater controls too?

Yep the old one will be "spare". Its in OK shape no cracks, or peeling that I can see, just doesn't look very new (maybe they are always like that ?)and I love the carbon finish in my Wedge ... and yes hope to get the smaller one carboned too which is a shame as its ok too. Maybe if your small one is poor we could swap and I'll get yours carboned - be a shame to trash the original ?

Thanks Ben. You know I don't like my carbon fibre 'effect' cheapo, nasty dash.

How're you doing anyway? Still fiddling with that/those ECUs?

Ah sorry, what I meant was I would be happy to donate my old fashioned "wood ones" to a good cause (for a small fee )and I'll get another damaged set carboned...
By the way its definitely not "cheapo" as I have a mate who is a Carbonfibre laminator at a professional race team

I have a nasty dash that I'm not happy with which is why I'm looking for an 'original' to either replace my existing carbon fibre effect or use as a pattern for a bespoke jobbie.
does that make sense?

yep, now I understand....
I'm sure that we could come to some "arrangement" as I could let you have both my original wooden ones in return for your small carbon one and some lolly
I'm not around this weekend but will have a go the next weekend and send you some pics.
