Heater Tap Replacement

Hi all

I am in the process of checking the heater tap on my Griff while it is wrapped up in the garage and was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the carpet surrounding the control unit in the footwell and if they have any pics etc? Also how to remove the unit without removing the coolant?

The carpet just pulls down, it might be glued lightly , but not that much.

You could clamp the pipes either side of the valve, but get some old towels in there, there will be some water spilt at the very least.
Also make a note of which pipes go where.
It can sometimes look easy , but 2 hours later and the old grey matter can confuse you.......

My carpet was attached to a board which just jammed into place against the battery, the bit above just sort of shoved into the opening.
The pipework up against the tunnel is covered by a piece of carpet rolled over the pipes at the top and stuck with velcro at the front and bottom edges - although I think the velcro is probably a mod by a previous owner.

So, put simply, it should all just pull out
