Gearbox problem!

My clutch pedal was stiff so i got it looked at and now i find out to my horror that my gearbox has a cracked casing!, apparently its at the end where it goes into a cone, TVR power say that there are no more T5 boxes available. They also said that its not the first one they have had go.

Anybody else ever heard of this? and any pointers of where to get a new box or casing from?

i;m about to have my rover box replaced to the t box by austec...... not a new one But pulled apart inspected and anyhting un toward sorted,,,,,,,

Sorry to see your trouble mate - I hope you dont mind but I was in Neils yesterday and had a look -

We should hhok up as we only live 3 miles apart!!

And you Dave. Its the first time since Simon and Jules opened that I've been in that neck of the woods so I thought I'd pop in.

The BMW (Z4 M Coupe) is a great car - ironically it is very TVR-like - you have to concentrate to drive it quickly.

Hi

I have now been over to look at the gearbox, no wonder the clutch felt bad!. Its worse than i thought, i have asked Neil to source a new one as i hope its covered on my warranty. I cant beleive the local TVR dealer didnt pick it up when they did the clutch last month as it was something i asked them to look into.

If its not covered then i will be buying a casing and have Neil swop it all over. He said that there are some mods/upgrades on the T5 boxes now. I also apparently have a late manufactured box as there arent the usual linkages on it.

Would be great to meet up, however im already booked for a Cornwall run on the 4th March. So when you have any other dates let me know.
