Have just bought some lovely Estorils for my Griff (thanks VJJ !).

And am now torn between keeping the original 5 spokes that need a refurb so I can revert to original if when I come to sell it "originality" is important to the buyer, or alternatively recouping some cash by selling them on now.

As I say they are the originals 2 x 15 inch and 2 x 16 inch with black centre caps with TVR badge missing off 3 of them.

Are they worth selling or should I keep them with the car ?

Keep them.If i had a pre-cat i would keep it as original as poss,or at least keep all the bits,so that you can swap back if need be.

Mint 5 spokes seem to sell for about £300-£450 without tyres. They're not in the same league as mint cross-spokes (which are worth about twice as much). Which is ironic because the cross-spokes are such a PITA to keep mint and are very costly to refurb, so many owners change them for 5 spokes!

The 5 spokes were made by two different manufacturers - CG and AMIL. A mix of CG and AMIL would (IMHO) be a no-no; it points to an accident or at least major kerbing. I think both types originally had a polished lacquered finish to the spokes, with painted rims. Most refurbed 5 spokes are painted all silver as they tend to last better that way. Worth bearing in mind if you refurb them (polished for originality, painted for longevity).

Personally I'd keep them, and sell them with the car. I always find non-standard wheels a big turn-off.
