Wanted - Griff/Chim Bible

Following on from, but not wanting to hijack, Phil's thread. Does anyone have a spare or unwanted copy of The Griff/Chimera Bible by Steve Heath.

There are a few quirks on the new car I want to try to understand and fix myself.

If we don't buy these books, why would anyone go to the trouble of writing and publishing them? I've found it invaluable and am grateful to Mr Heath and to anyone else that contributes. The book is not expensive - less than a tank of fuel.

Price for a new copy of the S version on TVRCC is £29.95 (£33.90 with shipping) yet I noticed this on PH www.pistonheads.com/sales/122749.htm. I wonder why

Fair point... then again you could say that about the cars themselves. Why are people more interested in the Griffs than say the Tamora..? If TVR went to the trouble of designing and building them, surely people should have bought them..?

Alex asked a sensible question... I have one sat collecting a fine layer of dust, so it makes sense to sell it. In fact, he'll have plenty of change for some more fuel. Then again, perhaps I shouldn't have sold the Chimaera, I should have just expected people to go any buy a new car...

Yes, be nice to Steve... If you stop buying the bible, it'll give him the justification to get another TVR & write a bible for that... Has he done the Cerb one yet?

Lord Grover - I understand your point, but to be fair it is all about the free market economy Having bought the car I am a little short of cash at the moment, so wanted to try to find a 2nd hand copy for sale and save some of the green stuff for fuel, so I can make the most of driving it.

I'm not in the business of trying to stitch anybody up, just trying to get value for money

[RANT] Sorry Podie, I'm sure you're a nice chap and all - but BOLLOCKS! Unless of course I didn't make my original point clear enough - in which case I apologise. I have nothing against anyone 'moving on' unwanted 'stuff', I'm just making the point that I believe that I have a responsibilty to reward/acknowledge/thank those that have made the effort to help.

The point is not related to the cars - I'm referring to someone, making the time and effort to write then publish a very useful and interesting manual to help the 'TVR Community'. If he and others are not supported he/they simply won't bother and we all lose out.

You're entitled to your opinion.

I agree the likes of SH should be supported - I have no issue with that, and have bought a few "bibles" over the years.

What I do not see is the point of buying something new, when the same item is available cheaper secondhand (clearly not on eBay then ). To illustrate my point I scaled the example up to cars.
