Where can I get a fan belt for a pre-cat Griff?

My garage says they are struggling to get a new fan belt for my 91 4.3 BV Griff. Apparently they are non standard, and he needs to get some made specially.

Does anyone know where there is any stock?

Hi

If it's the same as a 4.3 precat Griffith you can get them in Halfords - own brand HB1100b if I recall correctly. The 1100 refers to the length in mms and the b refers to the cross-section profile of the belt

I had trouble sourcing one for the V8S, I don't remember what the donor was but it was something pretty wierd, not a common car at all. I ended up going to a belt stockist, none of the local motor factors could match it for me. They are a production belt though and you shouldn't need to get one made up for you - I imagine that would be hideously expensive. If in doubt I guess at a pinch you could call one of the dozens of TVR specialists across the country and ask them to stick one in the post.

Just to throw my hat into the ring, and confuse things even further:

I found that the 1050 wouldnt just go on, 1075 was perfect, 1100 when adjusted left alt on top of manifold (which I deemed to be pretty dumb idea).

I guess its poss the pulley sizes might have changed slightly, which is why so many have used different lengths on the simple crank-water pump-alt pre-serps.

Cant remember the profile off top of head tho.

I might be wrong - it could be HB1100a and not HB1100b - but that's why I said to take the old one with you, to be sure, to be sure.

If you have any doubts about the length then measure with a bit of string first around you pulleys - I found the 1100mm one a good fit on my car.
