Griffith hazard warning light

The red hazard light always seems to stick in the dashboard when used or checked at MOT time (getting scratched). Has anyone changed it for the aluminium Chimaera switch which would suit my stainless dash?
How easy is it to do and what cost.
ps recently fitted David Beer`s Hot Start Kit, earth strap and the two stage cooling fan mod. Excellent service and easy to fit even for a novice!!

I changed all my switches, all "light action" in ally. I think no one else will reply !

Electrically there is only two circuits going through the switch, so it shouldnt be difficult, both need to go through a N/O switch.

I had this problem - the boot release also did the same, burning out the boot release solenoid and taking out the dash fuse (no instruments). Annoying.

The reason was simple in my case - the buttons were sticking BEHIND the hole in the dash, because the panel they are attached to is glued to the back of the main dash, and had come partially unstuck (damp and rust on the steel back of the dash dos this). After sticking it back it has not happened again! You may be able to get at it from the glovebox aperture if you take the glovebox out, although mine was done by a dealer whilst replacing the burnt out alarm.

I got them from Farnell, other suppliers are available ! Not cheap though, from memory £18 ish but worth every penny and yes the dash has to come out but they will never fall through or get stuck, ill dig out some pics and mail you.
