I did a daft thing ... my alarm went off and wouldn't stop in the middle of the night so in frustration I pulled the wires to the siren under the bonnet resulting in the wires soming free at both ends (siren end and the end closest the bulkhead). On reflection it would have been easier and a lot more sensible to disconnect the battery! Anyway since then there has been no problems as I reset the alarm byy disconnecting the battery a few days later. However there is a new noise coming from the ECU/ battery area, its like a constant high then low pitch noise when the ignition is on. I'm not sure if the noise was there before or not, or is it new and have I b+ggered the alarm/ electrics as apart from the noise its working fine.
May be worth contacting Car & Bike Installations - I've not used him but Carl comes with a great reputation.

Sorry we missed you at the end but yes it was a good hour or so spent. Good to catch up with a few folks.
PS accident at Hullavington on the way back meant a detour through the countryside. Great roads...if it hadnt been raining recently. cars got all sh1tted up
