Has anyone had any experiences with steering play - especially in the straight-ahead position?
This is on a '98 car with PAS...
Assuming you've checked the obvious, universal joints etc, is there play when the engine is off (ie. un-assisted)and have you poked your fingers in everywhere to check for play while someone else wiggles the steering wheel?

My steering rack is constantly being refilled with grease every 12,000 mile service. Seems to firm it up nicely.
