WHY DOES NO ONE LIKE MODIFIED HEADLIGHTS!!!!

just an observation, no one apart from me has anything good to say about my h/lights

i am told 'everyone wants the car to be original'

Yes - original is best - apart from the SE 7" upgrade pods and lamps as supplied by Sportmotive.

The twin lights behind the fairing is not too offensive but the blended in tuscan style light conversion is the worst IMO.

well....IMHO I really think the Griffith as it was first launched has a purity of design and looks best as it was. I personally don't like them with Tuscan headlamps or LED lights, front or rear, and really have a fond dislike of replacing all the interior bits with aluminium. It's a personal thing though - each to his own eh.

I'm not sure if I even like the 7" lights tbh. I've been thinking about going this route for a while but they just look to bloody big!

I'll probably have to do it and then decide later on if I keep it like that.

I must say that I prefer the originals for purity, but for actual practicaliy I want to go for the twin's fared in behind the perspex as when out for a nighttime run on Saturday I would have been better off taping my maglite to the roof! Not very keen on the Tuscan style lights, sorry.

ad is for poss sale of my Griff but looks like most people dislike the conversion of lights hence my thread...not really a problem as i will probably keep the car and save me the expense of buying a T350T!

and also saving me an argument with she who must be obeyed!

I do Mark, But like the ones behind the fairings They way I went means if and when i want to then it wont take much to put back to original. Can see at night with the upgrades too.

Variety is the spice of Griffith ownership IMHO.

You might have a smaller buyer base but the same could be said for every modification. If you love it who cares what anybody else thinks.

Keep the original pods and lights, just add a HID conversion, loads more light and looks the same but go H1 4300k super white, i brought my kit from fleabay and some dude on hear did a cool vid and instructions on how to fit them.

Job Done.

Mark - Personally speaking, looking at the other Griffs at Goodwood on Sunday, I thought the standard lights looked plain and the light conversions at least make the car look more personal. Whether anyone likes a particular conversion or not is personal taste. Have you had much interest shown in yours? If not, it might be more to do with price, I paid less than you're asking for a car that is two years younger with about the same mileage. Just my opinion of course.

When I get a griff one of the first things I'll be doing (obviously after the noisest exhuast conversion), is to change the lights to that double look.
Updates the car a lot.

I got my headlight upgrade done about 2 years ago and still think it's a great mod. Originally I had the pods the same colour as the car but decided to change them to satin black which fits much better.

Anyway folk must like them as I got second place in Sprints 'Picture This' this month.

I like your lights! Does that help? I also like the lights above, but I am keeping my SE as original as possible (it already has 7" lights with upgraded bulbs from Powerbulbs, which gives good visibility) - I am hoping it will become a classic so don't want to muck about with it.

i like this one though - double lamps behind the faring.Id be interested in how much as well.

I fitted the Dave Beer brighter lights kit which does work a treat if brightness is your issue
