I currently run an S2 and an Astra both of which I use to commute to work (about 1 1/2 hours each way) on a fairly equal basis. My wife said "why don't you sell them both and put the cash together for something newer". Now I'm not sure she meant another TVR but it's got me thinking.
Could you guys give me some pros and cons of griff vrs chim considering I would have to use it daily for a long commute. Is this sensible (considering I've been doing this for the last two years in the S2 3-4 days per weeks)?

If its to be used as a daily car I would be inclined to look at a Chimaera, only because of the fact its slightly more practical because of the bigger boot and if your funds are limited by the sale of your current cars you will be able to buy a later Chimaera as against an older Griff. Underneath its the same car....
The only word of caution I would add is to bargain hard as the Chimaera is more likely to depreciate quicker than the rarer Griffs.

Now I may be biased, but it's got to be a pre-cat and if you drove it every day chances are it would increase the reliability, bit hot in traffic in the summer though, other than that fantastic.

Damn! you thought of a better parallel for the rear end than I did. Shorter & Stumpy rather than just Fat@rsed - most Griffly rude - I at least acknowledged a modicum of prettiness from the front

Both the Griff and Chim have good boot space, you can eaisly go away for a week or 2. But the Chim's is much bigger, and accomodates the spare and roof in a much more economical way.
That aside, it's pretty , much cosmetics and engine size. The Chims you have a range of engines where as the Griff is limited to 500, unless you want a very early car (92-93)
The Chim's lights are better than the Griffs unless you have a SE or 7" lights.

Drove a bright yellow chim today :-) VERY different from the S. Massively better build quality of course but somehow felt isolated and less "chuckable". Admittedly this is the first one I've driven and I was deliberatley being careful too. I'm seriously considering this as an option now tho.
The bloke in the garage was funny, obviously knew nothing about tivs, couldn't get the roof out of the boot, couldn't find the battery either.
This one hadn't been serviced since 2005 how much should this knock off the price?
