Got a set of T1-R's fitted to the front of the Griff today supplied by Guillotine who's prices were easily cheaper than anyone else locally, the tyres seem to bite well already, were a little greasy after a bit of driving but passed after a while.

What tyres are fitted to the rear of your Griff?

I've been following this thread www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=384152 which discusses the use of T1-Rs at the back and SO3s at the front - I would be interested to hear your opinion if you are now running T1-Rs all round.
Thanks.

I have S01 at the rear as they came up a few years ago at a price I couldn't turn down, I had S03 on the rear before that and there wasn't a lot of difference in grip. Will probably be changing the rears in the near future though as not got a awful lot of life left in them.

I'm running T1-R's all around on my road rims (17" tho) and they give far more grip than the S02/3's but you do get a little more flex in the side walls than you will be used to when cornering, that combined with more grip tends to make the car "feel" a bit more twitchy and nervous but once you get used to it you can carry greater speed through the corners.

Hamish...

Hi Mate,
True, which is why we recommend 24f/26r which makes quite a difference and another couple (hot) on TDs - 26/28.
