Great piece in Sprint, what made you go for the 5.4litre and is it as reliable as the standard 5.0litre. Great photos engine looks fantastic do you have any more you could attach here. Sort of hope my engine goes bang so I can do the same.

Thanks.
Iv only put 4000 miles or so on as yet with no problems re reliability of the engine at all. The reasons for the choice are in the article really - I was fortunate to be able to do it at the time with money available etc. The decision came about with some very well founded advice from friends on here - as mentioned.
I would have no problem recommending Rob to anyone. (In fact I know of one regular on here who has literally just decided to go the same route). The engine is the dogs conkers - Mike (AJP Griff) has driven it as has Cinquecento (Lindsay) so they could comment further. The throttle response is fantastic and Id hate to guess what the (theoretical) top speed is. I also need to weigh the back end down and get it on some rollers for a proper session for torque, bhp etc. It pulled 354bhp at the rolling road earlier this year but slipped on the rollers...I know Rb reckons its good for 380ish...
I will post some photos but need to transfer them from my old computer to this new one...when I get less time!!
cheers

Hello just another question which cam did you opt for ?, stealth or other ??, just try to decide on a build myself and need some advise.
Thanks
Thanks
The biggest dilema you have is to look at the whole package you want to end up with, the first and formost thing you NEED to decide is how much money you want to spend, or if it is going to be a long term project and you have no intention of selling the car you could do things in stages, for instance if your budget is £5000 yes you could have a 5.4 litre short engine fitted with all your old engine parts on top, and yes it will produce more torque but nothing like its full potential if you had heads carbon plenum, after market ecu's, bigger injectors etc etc.... then you will see big gains straight the way, the downside to doing it in stages is A will cost more in the long run and B if you build an engine as a complete package you can set the c/r and cam specs to suit, if you just go for a short engine you still need to compromise for dizzys, driveabillity etc...
