J524 MHG Press car - feature in Classic Cars next month
Discussion
did the photoshoot for this so long ago I almost forgot about it....but apparently my resto of J524 is featured in the July issue, out at end of May. hopefully it will include some ace shots of a Griff in anger, the most memorable one has to be when the photographer asked me to take an S-bend 'on the limit' while he lay in the verge with his Instamatic poised at the ready....insane really, I missed him by about 2 feet! enjoy!
don't know if this'll work, but here's a pic of Griff during the photoshoot with girlfriend admiring huge erection on the bootlid..

Klem

KlemI love your car - the colour combination and the upgrades it currently sports. I was admiring it at last year's Growl but you weren't around. I used your cars spec as inspiration when searching for a Griff of my own and choosing the body colour for a respray. Can't wait to see the article!
in your newsagents now as they say...nice 5 page article on page 80 with a small photo on the front cover to boot. Am really chuffed with the quality pics which I think I will be able to get on cd rom from Classic Cars now that it's published. for pedants out there, spot the deliberate mistake in the bottom pic on page 83...

steveThanks all for kind words - no problem to add the article Simon, and the picture you have posted has a story behind it too..you may notice that whilst GF has a happy (delerious?) smile on her face I, on the other hand have a look of gritty determination. This was not just me trying to uphold the tradition of gritty British TVR drivers..rather me trying not to hit the photographer who was lying prostrate on the verge about 4m from the car as I powered thru the S-bend as fast as I dare! (his idea not mine!)
You can see that the front O/S wheel is aaalmost lifting off and yes there was much squealing of rubber!
Congrats to geeks who spotted delib error in other photo - yes no speed on speedo and no oil pressure on guage
just proving that Griffs look cool even switched off!

It must have been changed - along with other items, such as instruments, etc. - the original road tests of that Griffith by Peter Tomalin, etc. show a normal layout with heater controls horizontal and window switches vertical.
It would be great to see it back to its roadtest era appearance and spec IMO.

PS Steve can you tell me what the paint and trim colour names and codes are - in the handbook or on your under-bonnet plate?
