hi, what injectors could i buy (and where pls) for a modded griff 500 engine? i have: sport decated full exhaust and new act headers, larger am, tuned ecu and triple carbon act plenum and larger inlets...

my ecu is the old 14cux year '96, is there any new management sistem from the same family (without beeing an aftermarket) or up to the end the sistem remained unchanged? thanks/Giuseppe

Mike who runs Shropshire Auto Services 01743 360370 knows all best types & can supply, he's a Bosch injection specialist & has a dyno that Mark Adams often uses to set up TVR's. Had large injectors/air meter/ACT on my Griff engine that Mark set up rather well there. smile

Standard injectors are more than capable of 350 hp who says you need to change them Panic ?

the injectors i have are exactly 11 years old and i guess they need to be changed, in the occasion i though i could go to something better then the lucas stock ones...considering i have a few mods already (included a fuel pressure regulator)..

Mark has seen useful gains in power, economy & smooth running from better atomisation with higher quality injectors right through the rev range.

i've asked tim of act to recommend uprated injectors and a proper new tuned chip to match...from what i've red here it seems the bosch could be a good aftermarket alternative to lucas...

I don't have a 500, but a superior 4.3 hehe ..... I got some bigger injectors from Rob Robertson who has done all kinds of testing etc,....... It might be worth droping him a line.

After installation of new injectors, ACT carbon fiber trumpets, & ACT induction kit my car was overfueling a lot which was then put right RR setup.

A good price and recognised straight away by Mark Adams.

Eh, don't think so. Standard injectors would struggle to go beyond 300 bhp (so I'm told). The Bosch ones are great.

not quite correct .. I have many cars now comfortably over 300hp on std injectors, two cars at 340hp. As pasco says you dont *have* to change from std if you dont want to on a purely hp basis. 340hp is the limit though IMO . but there's few cars out there with a genuine 340hp anyway.

I believe Mike (AJP Griff) managed 350ish on his standard injectors. However, I think it's the exception rather than the rule.

I use Siemens 600cc/min in mine and I'm very happy with them, but they'll never work nicely with the Lucas ECU!!

My car is making 344 BHP on standard injectors hence my comment biggrin

I stand corrected.

It is worth noting that these cars are on fuel pressure pushed to the limit of what the injectors will stand though .. you wont see 340hp from std injectors on std fuel pressure .. but a fuel pressure regulator is cheaper than the 600 pounds i've seen asked for injectors sometimes.

Standard fuel pressure is far too low anyway wink I run mine at 3.5 bar even with the big injectors.

My injectors cost less than £250 for the set (imported from the US), so it wasn't much of a choice for me - 1% matched injectors with a nice spray pattern or old Lucas ones that were past their best.

We used the std injectors and 3 bar fuel pressure to get 354bhp on Joo's rollers, which was verified at interpro when it made 345bhp there, and two std griff were making figures in the 260's.To be fair the car was missing a bit at peak power as the duty cycle was flat open!We could have upped the fuel pressure to 3.1 bar,but as i'm now going to take the car further before i sell it i have fitted the bosch 4 pintle red tops to provide the extra fuelling we will need. Some thing very interesting has happened since fitting these and i will find out more later today,as i'm finally able to take the car to Interpro to get it on the dyno againbiggrin.
It's worth adding that if you really do need the bigger injectors,or even if you want to replace the std ones with the same size 4 pintle Bosch one's,then you can get them for around £200 from here www.fiveomotorsport.com   which is where mine came fromsmile(£197)
