Are the two fans not identical? One of the fans siezed on my Griff 4.3 and I
have just replaced both. The good one in the garage and is available to who ever might want it, for the cost of postage. Its the original Spal fan which isnt water tight. The replacements are, and only cost me about £60 each.
The cost of postage and uncertainty re the remaining life left in my original, now redundant fan might make this not a worthwhile option.

Are the fans otherwise identical? If so the one with a protruding motor almost certainly simply has a bigger motor. The twin fans used on precats have smaller motor motors which are almost entirely enclosed within the fan shroud. Best bet is a matched pair of new ones. A pair of SPALS for the 500 should be about £150 I'd have thought as you need the bigger motor.

hi, everyone the fan i took out was the one with the smaller motor as, the cooling pipe from the rad run,s right over the top of it i, can poss, get a bigger motor fan but i would then have to reroute pipe to rad as the larger motor in the fan would stop the pipe going to the rad i will have another look and do what i think is best many thanks paul (oh , thanks for the offer of the an but as you say i think it best that i get new one manythanks again paul
