Doooooohhhh !!!!! I've been stupid paperbag

Took the plastic bit off where all the switches for heater and doors are this morning.... some f@#k wit (ie me) did not label the cables so no idea which cable goes to which switch terminal.

I managed to keep groups of cables to gether for each switch.

Pre cat car.......

Any photos, diagrams, discriptions appreciated.

Cheers

hoover, as far as your wiring goes, do the job "outside", and don`t rush the job, you`ll end up "praying for time", perhaps you`ll get some good advice or it could just be a "careless whisper", just let your griff know "you have been loved", and taking advice from Pasco must be like " kissing a fool" hehe
I`m sure with the right tools and "one more try" you can sort this out, its probably "the strangest thing" causing this, just have some "faith", get in the griff, roof down for some "freedom", and try "spinning the wheel"!!biggrinbiggrin

I should point out that ALL information on these song titles are from my wifes george micheal cd, I have no interest whatsoever in men who hang around in public toilets.

thank you.

Hoover I'm confused by what you're asking.
If you kept the wires grouped together for each switch and you're talking about the up/down switch for the windows and hot/cold etc for the heater don't they only have 2 wires for each switch?

nope...... 6 wires per switch... hence why I ask.... too many permutations for trial and error

Hoover, if you hold the switch in the orientation that it goes in.......

top and bottom have the motor wires(yellow+stripe),swap over if motor goes wrong way(up/down)
outer two have the blacks(earths)
the other two have the red lives, one live is for the light in the swtich, the other to power the window.
If the window only work with the ignition on, you have the reds the wrong way round.

Hope this helps.....

Did you get your valves sorted (on tyres ,not yours personally)

PS, this is the same wiring prinicple for the heater control motors.

Cheers Antony....... I will have ago with this when battery charged up (looks like though I've killed it and it was only new a few months ago)

Tyre valves all sorted for the princly sum of £3.80 for a tyre valve tool from Motor Factors .. cheers thumbup

will let you know probably tommorrow night if successfull in connection of switches .

I was hoping to change the leds but I guess this is central consul out, can tell if they working or not as no power, but there was o lot of dust on the opaque marbles so cleaned all of them instead.

Hoover, there arent any LEDS.
IIRC it is a simple bulb holder behind the dash that has a kind of cap on it with some fibre optic cables feeding the lights behind the switch panel.
On mine the bulb had gone black with age, changed it and the switch panel lit up !!

Could be tucked behind the T bone, behind the heater panel.
With the radio out you should be able to reach down and find it.

Big Thanks to Barreti and AntonyJ...... all back together and working thumbup

one of the switches is duller then the others so I will check connections at the weekend... if not I'll try switching them around to illiminate a duff switch.....

Will also try and locate the fibre optic light source at the weekend.

Cheers
