I have a Cobra replica with the engine and box from a 92 Griffith 400. I am having increasing difficulty finding 3rd gear when changing up infact sometimes it baulks completely. Reverse is non too easy either. Can anyone help with advice on what this might be and whether a new box is likely? Does anyone know of a reliable company in the Staffs area that could be trusted with fixing it? Thanks. Steve.

the gearbox is a Rover LT77 ..... so any one specializing in Rover/Land Rover/ TVRs should easily be able to refurb....

no idea on who up there though.

Check your oil level, even if only slightly down it will make a difference. Replace all the oil with castrol SMX, this cured the gear issues on my wedge earlier this year.

Although its an LT77 box, I thought TVR beefed up some of the internals from standard?

Thanks guys. Having read through some older topics, I wonder if the plastic cup on the bottom of the gear lever could be the culprit but I will try an oil change first. Steve.
