New Cibies - where from?
Discussion
Either the roads in France are terrible, or the guys that I have been following have been going significantly faster than normal ... can't think which ...
but either way, I now have not one, but TWO cracked Cibie driving lights
As the car is for sale I need to get them replaced a bit sharpish. Anyone know the best source please, either good second hand or new?
Thanks in advance.
(car ran like a dream to Le Mans and back by the way, at some quite serious velocity
).

Might be worth investing in some carbo-discs from the TVRCC shop - around £25 a pair. Alternatively FFG has some real natty covers on his (Andreas) Griff - again might be worth dropping him a line too

There's a guy in PH Classifieds who's been trying to sell a new pair for ages.
Jay
PS Currently halfway down Page 5 of TVR Parts - 94 pounds for the pair.

Thanks guys
I suspect the link the classifieds may be Lazyitus
That price sounds ok Jon. There is a chap who has a second hand pair which I am just checking that the reflectors and class are nice and clean and bright, and then I'll decide which route to take.
I an tempted to go 'new' though just for peace of mind.
Is it a simple job to replace them or, is it like most easy to do jobs, a right pig to actually get at them?

A little bit fiddly but if I can manage it, you can. Believe me!I see you must work in or around TP ? If so, I can get them to you by hand to save postal costs.
Just let me know.

Between the football ground and Trafford Centre - I could probably throw the lamps to you from here.
I could meet you later with said lamps if you wish. I will have a red hankerchief in my breast pocket and a paper under my left arm. We'll do the switch, just leave the cash (or cheque) under the bench.

While this method is indeed cheap, I feel there is a very real danger of cracking the lenses.
Don't worry, I'm going to the chippy at dinner - I can wrap the lamps in newspaper.Still, I'm sure an additional tinge of yellowness won't look too out of place on Al's car
