Speedo/ECU speed signal converter box
Discussion
Behind the dash there's a little black box that seems to connect to the speedo.
It has 5 connections:
Green - +12v from ignition
Black - ground
Blue - goes to speedo
Green/Yellow - goes into the depths of the wiring loom. My guess it goes to the ECU?
Grey - goes into the depths of the wiring loom. My guess is it comes from the speed sensor?
If you do a continuity test on the black box then the blue and grey wires are shorted together.
I presume this means that since I have an aftermarket ECU then I can just bridge these two wires to make the speedo work and have less clutter behind the dash?
However, I'd also like to know exactly what the black box does to the speed sensor signal, as I may be able to use it for some more useful purpose.
