How many lights are behind the rear number plate???
Discussion
I changed the festoon bulbs for LED versions. Much brighter although quite directional so you get a bit of a spotlight effect behind the plates.
I did this because the bulb can be touched inside the boot - this was changed on later cars I understand - and it burnt stuff when the boot was full.
Rotate the bulbs and you have a great source of light in the boot

Drove back from Italy recently, lots of rain/tunnels etc, had the lights on all day, when we unpacked we discovered one of the bulbs had burnt a hole through my girlfriends new luggage.I did this because the bulb can be touched inside the boot - this was changed on later cars I understand - and it burnt stuff when the boot was full.
