Right a familiar topic.........

Tried to start my Griff 500 and fuel pump is on line, alarm and immobiliser off but not a dicky bird out of the starter motor or any of that actual starting the car stuff.

Before plunging into the usual earthing problems etc can anyone point me to where I should start? Here's hoping for a quick fix. Oh I've tried bump starting it.....nothing!

Sounds to me as though it could be a fault with the immobiliser circuit which goes to the starter motor. I've heard of a few other people experiencing this problem and they generally get it fixed by consulting the alarm guru Carl Baker.

Quickest way to check if starter is alive is to hot wire it, you only need to give the spade term 12v and the starter should crank. You can also check if spade connector is getting 12v at the same time.

Problem solved

12v all the way to the 100 amp "alternator" fuse just by the starter motor. Starter motor suspect. Hit it with a pair of mole grips (al a the old Ford starter motors on my mums Fiesta) and hey presto she burst into life!

Not sure how sustainable this repair method is!!! May have to strip the motor down or just don't let the Griff sit in my garage for 3 months at a time.

Anyway sunshine calls............

Sorry to go on about it, but get the relay back into the solenoid circuit, it was there, should be there.
Any "non cranking", try a relay back in to the wiring, easy to do,loads of info at griff pages and chim pages.
