Show Car Indentification......
Discussion
How would I find out a list of chassis numbers that were NEC showcars around the '92 era???
Talking to Simon at Leven regarding his new ali door card red reflectors, he seems to think that TVR tended to fit door card reflectors that lit up to 'show cars' as it looked good as the car sat on show with the doors wide open.
Having had my conventional black plastic reflector crumble to bits I have noticed that the door card behind it has a hole beneath it through the fibreglass and behind it is a set of live wires with a lucas connector with 12V across it. The wires are original and taped into the door electrics loom from the factory - on both sides of the car.
Could it be a show car or just something that factory was messing with???

When I bought mine, the last owner seemed to think it was a show car / press car / TVR demo car or something. I never took much notice at the time as
1. I thought it may have been said just to increase the value
2. As production was so low, quite a proportion of the cars could have been used like this in someway before being a dealer demo or going onto there first owners.
Mine is '92 4.0 in Blue. Any info ( or pointers to looking up the info would be appreciated )

By coincidence, I removed my door cards last night to re-dye the carpeted panels, and found the same connectors neatly loomed to the rear of the door.
A red and a white wire fitted with a 2 pin connector. Thought at the time they may have been intended for a door edge light, seem to remember they were known as 'puddle jumpers' years back.As seen on Jags/Stags etc.
My car was registered May 92.
