Makes you wonder why we bother some times...

Opie have contacted me to advise that they have only received 5 orders at the Growl prices. I am aware that they have run shorter promotions but this is a long time promo especially for us. 5 orders is p1ss poor imho....

I would urge you to visit the thread above (stickied) as if we are to cary on receiving support off trade vendors for the Growl we need to be supporting them...

Please do you best folks...

thanks

Graham

maybe its because people dont realise how good or what oil does in your engine? dont forget the vast majority of people leave there cars to be serviced so they probably dont know? (no offence to anybody) but as an engine builder i wont warrant my engines unless they are used with silkoline oils.

Being a user of Mobil 1 Motorsport, Opie's usual price is 10 quid / 5 ltrs more expensive than my local Motor factors.

I will give them a bell on Monday to see what they can do. To be honest they'd have to match the Silkolene price in order to make it worth it for me

Planning a gearbox & diff change soon so perhaps they can help there

All for supporting those that want to help us

Me too Moose so will you find out about the oil they recommend for a LT77 gearbox and get them to bring some of that along too. Ta.

Whats going on with the oil then guys, have we all turned soft, does nobody do their own oil change these days?

Oh, while on the subject, has anybody got a recommendation for an oil catcher thingy which has sides low enough to slide under the griff while its on its wheels but deep enough to catch 6 litres or so.
Mine was bought for the LandRover and is brilliant with a spout etc but its about 2 inches too tall for the Griff.

Same problem here too,i'm paying £28/5 litres of 15/50 Mobil 1 Motorsport.Would have liked to support the growl supporters though.

A cat litter tray is perfect for this. Well mine is. Its crap as a cat litter tray because :

1. Someone trimmed the sides down so it would fit under a car, so now the sides are too low to keep the cat litter in when the cat kicks it about.

2. As it smells of oil, the cat won't go near it.

3. The oil does tend to make the litter stick.

Mrs Big Dunc treated the cats to a new litter tray & the old lives in the garage. Incidently ( clean ) cat litter is very good for oil spills.

I use OpieOils myself but unfortunately only just bought a new 5ltr tub of Silkolene Pro R for the Griff a month or two back. Missed any special offers, doh!

Looking forward to Rockingham but doubt I can make both that and the Growl so hope to see some of you guys there.
