Induction, carbs and things???

Hi guys

I am a total newbie to V8s and all the info I have learnt about tubo charged engines is pretty usless here. Anyway to the point could anyone tell me what the advantage is of using a plenum with multipul throttal bodies (ie the Act performance one) over say a webber carb (I think thats whats on the TVR Monster)
