Distributor change?

Can anybody confirm one way or the other if the distributor on a 4L pre-cat can be removed and replaced without disconnecting any part of the water system ?

It's a rover v8? - I dont see any reason why you need to - unless there's a pipe obscuring the hold-down clamp/bolt.

What he said above, nothing on or around the dizzy affects the cooling system..
