Hi all,

Just been out for a run and noticed that my oil pressure is dropping to 0 on the gauge when I boot the loud pedal. The pressure warning light is not coming on, and as soon as I come off the pedal the pressure returns to normal which is approx 20-25 on the gauge, this drops to around 10'ish on idle . Cars a pre-serp 500 '93. She uses a lot of oil and has done since I've had it, approx 4-600 miles per liter depending on how hard its driven, using mob 1, changing to Silkolene shortly on Opies recommendation. No apparent smoking or or oil leaks. Ideas, or further investigations I can carry out before a trip to the garage ? Or is it a case of ok well not to worry as the garage have told me in the past ?

TIA

oil pressure sender. its a favourite.

dr0pping to 10 (even lower) hot is normal, but I make sure that you use a thick oil.

I get the same with my gauge, so I'm fitting a new sender soon. Mine does about 1/2 lire every 1000

I had this on idle the pressure would drop right off but no oil light. The spage connecter on the sender was very loose, took it of gave it a gentle squeeze with some pliers and pushed it back on and it's been good as gold since.

1996 500 Serp though
