Did mine on the chim recently (swirl pot but still alloy). Turned by hand until it wouldnt go any further then a half turn further with a spanner was all thats needed. Maybe half a turn was more than it needed at that as it didnt leak when finger tight.

ummm strange as done it up to 10 lb/ft and it was leaking, had to do it to 25lb/ft before it stopped.
I think that was less that 1/2 a turn though

I was testing it with 20 psi air, maybe with water it don't have to be as tight.

Just hope I don't have to take it out again.

Thanks
Leigh

Was that assembled dry? A smear of Hylomar blue will help it seal with much less torque.

It was dry. it had a ali crush washer so thought it would not need extra sealant. the thread on the rad must have had a 8mm welded wall on it, so was not to worried about doing it tight ish. plus its a big nut. would not have wanted to go much more though.

I will use some blue though if I ever take it off again, hopfully not though.

Thanks again GV8
