New Shocks needed
Discussion
After looking at the state of my front springs I now know why my car has a tendency to do its own thing over bumpy surfaces
Does anyone know of a competitive supplier, who can also fit and set up alignment, and are located in the South East. Absolutely Shocks appear competitive but are just too far from where I live. Any advice greatly appreciated. F&C

hi you two hope you are both well.Sorry not able to help about the south east part but you could also consider Protech as well as Gaz.
Pasco
Edit to add consider rose jointed drop links like the ones Steve Heath sells made a difference on my car

Speak to Derek at Absolutely Shocks and He'll be able to give you the name of your nearest recomended GAZ fitter
Hi Hamish have you managed to sort your car out ?
yep it appears one of my Lambda sensors was broken fooling the ecu into thinking it was running rich.Goes in for a service on the 16th when its having Bosch redtops and an FSE rising rate regulator fitted which should help it at high rpms(struggling to push enough juice in).
That car of yours sounds awesome!...not sure I could live with it on long journeys tho.

Mate, why are you going to Red tops :scratchin: you can get 350hp with the standard injectors with the right regulator you know

Pasco
Well some say they are good for 350bhp, but most i have talked to seem to think 300 is more realistic (especially when they've a lot of miles) besides, I got a good deal on them
308BHP and 341 ft/lb on the last RR session so we will see if it improves any on the 16th

Not blowing my own trumpet but my motor is around the 350 mark with standard injectors mate

Depends on age and condition on lines and regulator etc, but great result Pasco !
I have a set of red tops fresh from the states in the garage, snuggling up with the coil pack, trigger wheel and a few other bits

Have you seen this thread over on the Chim forum?
I think its odd there hasn't been an answer to my question about the running costs of shocks. If I was buying again (and I'm not) I'd want to know.
Factor in £250 every 18months to have them serviced, depending on use and mileage etc. Just had my Nitrons serviced as they are 3yrs old and have done 30k, and the difference is really noticeable.I think its odd there hasn't been an answer to my question about the running costs of shocks. He told me that GAZ shocks were about £45 ea to service, so if you do your own spanner work allow £200 to have your suspension Geo reset after you refit them.

Topcats are definately worth considering...in Bucks. www.topcatsracing.com Well known for their suspension set up expertise incl corner weighting. I got my Nitrons fitted there and was very impressed with service and attention to detail. They have a disused runway just round the back of their workshop so test the cars there to ensure everything is set up right.
