Recently my Steering has become hard on Turning left. They had a quick look at Gugiliemis and thought it may be the rack.
Its ok when turning right and ok at speed its just at low speed yes we griff owners to drive slow sometimes wink Its as if there is no power Steering at all the one way.

Anyone Had this problem on there Griffith.

What sequence of Diagnosis would you go through before whipping it out and sending it for a re-furb.

I am guessing it may be worth a flush through of new Fluid first? worth it or not.

Cheers

How about putting the car on axle stands, both wheels off and disconnecting the steering control arms from the uprights.
Start the car and see if there is any difference then.

Also this would enable you to independantly turn each side by hand to see if there is any resistance one way or another.

Is there any noise difference when turning the wheel to the left? Like more strain?

I know I said I had an aversion to PAS / ATF fluid in the gearboxes, but oil in the PAS is taking things a little too far even for you Simon hehe

Really hoping that was a slip of the fingers wink

Check the colour of the fluid. If it's blackened it's probably a seal gone.

If it is a seal thats broken down or a sticky valve you probably are wise getting it serviced before doing any really costly harm wink
