Recently had dash out and since putting it back in the heater fan won't turn off, just goes to slow speed and then doesn't stop.

Can anyone remind me if the switch should click off when reaches end of its movement. It doesn't now but can't remember if it did before.

Not sure if moved some wiring with the dash, or if its just coincidence that switch has packed up.

If it is the switch how easy is it to get to in the panel to replace?

Any ideas as it just keeps on pumping in hot air now...

It may be a pain but you may have to check the connections.
I had a similar problem, when the dash and heater controls were out and battery powered up,the fans ran, back to normal when I reconnected.

If its the variable type, if you reverse the connectors on the module, the fan will not turn off, took me a while to realise after repairing mine.

Pushing in switch turns on heated mirrors on mine.
Whats involved in getting to the switch? Need to remove the dash again to get to the panel on transmisson tunnel?

On mine, pushing in the switch turns on the fans AND a timer that keeps the mirror heater on for some minutes, even if you turn the fans off.

IIRC you have to turn off the ignition to cancel the mirror heater before the timer does.

I believe that some years cars are different.

You can get the lower dash out by removing the window switches to get at the nuts holding the lower dash.
