Throttle Linkage came apart - in a pub
Discussion
Nice day, roof off & after lunch in a pub, engine starts but throttle not responding. Appears that the 2x5mm bolts which hold the throttle spine to the bracket had lost a nut and the other was very loose.
The meant that the throttle spindle could move excessively towards the bulk head and the forked end came free from the butterfly spindle. See p57 of the bible.
As luck would have it there was a garage next door to the Pub and £10 later a new bolt fitted.
Once home I have replaced both bolts with locking washers, locking nuts and loctite !!!
So next time your under the bonnet, I suggest you spend 2 mins & check.
