I think I've finally located the pot on my hot/cold heater valve, which is currently constantly turning anti-clockwise.

Is it possible to test whether the pot is working or not to determine if I need a new pot or whether something else is the problem e.g. broken wire?

How would I go about testing it? Would I need to measure the resistance from the centre leg to the side legs to see if it changes as the motor turns?

Yep you can test it if you have a multimetre. Check the resistance, think it should be something like 0 through to 10k ohms from memory. Somebody like David Beer will know for sure.

Yep is 10k, check the wires to it, most likely one broken off.
