I have just put my griff back on the road after about 3 years. It had a full service before being put in the garage and has been out first time today, with no problems apart from erratic oil pressure. From memory it always ran about 20psi on the gauge from idle, and anything above 2000 revs would be about 40. Now at low revs it sometimes drops alarmingly low for about 5 seconds and then will slowly recover.

Two questions.

Can people tell me what their oil pressure is and any ideas about the erratic drop/recovery?

check and clean the electrical connection to the pressure sender unit which is down next to the oil filter.
Poor/corroded connection here is notorious for giving erratic guage reading.

Thanks, I'll try this tomorrow.

I'd forgot about the joys of griff ownership, 2 hours driving, evening of worrying, get out tools in the morning !

If it's not been touched for three years it could probably do with at least a once-over if not a service even if it's not turned a wheel imo.
