Anyone got a cheap / easy fix for hood stays that dont 'stay'. ie continually lose tension and then start rattling in a very irritating way....

It's funny you should mention that, one of my stays has just started to have the most annoying little rattle known to man. I cannot find what it is that's rattling rage

I took mine of and "tightened" the middle rivet.Ahem, mechanically.

Stopped the rattle.

When you say 'mechanically' - do you by any chance mean with a 'gentle persuader' - what my Dad calls a hammer.......

I was going to suggest this but I'll add, make sure you put some cloth or similar round the alloy or you'll scratch it to hell.

Maybe the rear hood section needs retightened.
