What car is the inertia switch from?
My fuel pump cut off yesterday and it was traced to the spring in the inertia switch. The RAC guy said he's seen a few with that switch go soft and give intermittent supply to the pump, causing misfires and cutting out.
The advice was we should all change that switch at least every 10 years.
Then I forgot to ask him what the switch came from.
Surrounded by TVR owners and not one of us thought of the switch because the car was ticking over with nobody in it when it suddenly cut out. We thought the fuel pump had died.
Stuck the button down and its running great.

I'm sure it's a Ford part. Fiesta springs to mind, although I'm not sure why...

If it's not raining I'll have a look to see if I can spy a part number at lunchtime.

The switch pictured in that link is different to mine.
I see from the profile of the guy that posted it that's a 4.3 precat.
Mines a 94 500, one of the first serps. The switch has no visible plunger, unlike that picture. It has a rubber diaphram on top. When you press down on the rubber, you feel a button underneath the rubber go down with a pop.
Someone said it doesn't matter which one you fit. Is that true?

Thats the std LR one, earlier plunger types can be found on Rover 2/4/6/800s IIRC.

I had a bet with myself who would know and I just won.
You really should write a manual of all this stuff Dave.
Thanks
