Gents,
does anybody know what the connection socket to the ECU is from or where to get one. I want to put a megasquirt system in whilst at the same time not touch the original loom and could do it, if I can find this connector.
Alternativly is a chim 400 ecu + connector the same as a Griff 500 ? as I have the possibility to get a loom

Yes it's the same ECU. You might talk to Joolz about getting a connector, or perhaps even a ready-made Lucas/MS adapter, because I think he was investigating this at one point.

What i did was buy another Lucas 14CUX box chop the gubbins out then solder on the back of that to the new megasquirt wires. Then it is literally plug and play.

Thanks

Isn't the Lucas ECU connector the same as a Bosch Motronics connector?

I hope the link works...

Buying old (even broken) 14cux's to stripdown seems to be expensive whenever I have looked so far.
Dont think the lucas uses the Mototronic connector;
there's a picture on here:

Edited to add; Suggest anyone with a Lucas system reads that article, has some very good inforation on all aspects of the system. Including info on the stepper, idle and tune resistors.

Be carefull, they suggest adjusting the screw on the MAF (mass air flow sensor) to adjust the tickover, thats wrong. Probibly just a typo. Im not too sure on the stepper motor reset as well, I tried it and it did precisly nothing.

There are so many in accuracies in that article it's funny, don't believe any of it without corroboration e.g. on the TPS it states "The throttle position sensor is designed to be self-adaptive. (At least in theory, adjustment is neither possible nor necessary)" and as for the base idle setup instructions.

Had a look at the link, the connector is close and looks exactly the same, but it's a 40 pin and we need 50. The hunt continues

Andy,

Agree with Neal. I am currently MS-ing my Griff..(got it started last week.. now starts the tuning!!) I got a spare 40 pin ECU plug from a fried 14CUX.. then created a loom from the DB-37 to the ECU loom.

Works a treat!!..
