For sure you'd remember the malfunctions that i had in my 500 engine 'cause i've been bothering you in a few threadsbiggrin

well, today i've changed coil, distributor, amplifier and potentiometer...i dont know which one was the cause of engine iussues but they're finally cured, the timing is set at 32 at 4.000rpms, it slightly ping if i pull hardly the throttle beeing at over 5.000rpms but i'll take care of that tomorrow with a fine tuning and without strobo, i'll drive/check and adjust timing myself...

the car has found its previous strength and its smooth and thunderous sound.

thanks all

Buying the ign amp as a spare, off someone doing an ECU upgrade would be a wise move IMHO wink

Just make sure you run a normal coil rather than a Mallory upgrade or any other type of higher output coil as they eat ign amps . . .

Impossible to say without knowing the current rating of the coil and the amp. But for example RPI sell uprated coils and the uprated ignition amps to suit - obviously, those uprated amps are rated appropriately for those coils.

well, both coils and amp are from rpi, the coil is a mallory, the amp is one the latest they have in catalogue, this one

what do you think? should i keep the mallory coil or go back to the stock bosch one? thanks..
