I am trying to realign my steering wheel but cant budge it, any ideas? I am tempted to do it via the tie rod ends but doing it in the car sounded easier than under! cheers, John.

You shouldn't need to take the wheel off the column unless it has been removed and refitted wrongly. Depends how far out of alignment it is, but if it's significant it's likely that the column has been assembled one spline out when replacing a steering column UJ. If so you should correct it at the splined joint rather than make the track rod lengths unequal.

A ball joint clamp style splitter will just squeeze on the steering wheel if you have to do it.Watch out though, its spring loaded and may give you a broken nose.

Worst case, put the nut back on to the top of thread flush with top face, then hit with drift while someone pulls directly backwards . . It works, as it was the onlt way we could free mine a couple of years ago . . .
