Coil to ecu link wire 8k ?
Discussion
from previous posts and from finding the fault with my 1994 5L griff, it was stated that the link wire (female spade on one end, bullett on the other) from coil to ecu should contain an 8k resistor. My problem was a poor connection in this wire so I've taken it off, once the terminals are clean it shows as a straight wire, no resistance at all.
My circuit diagram also doesn't show a resistor. Where should it be and did all cars have one ?
thanks
I don't know if all cars had one, I know that they're removed sometimes as an expedient fix when the resister fails but most I've looked at still had one strapped to the breather pipe or throttle assembly. I've never measured mine but apparently somebody else who did measure theirs found it was a little over 7k. I don't suppose the exact value matters, it's just to stop the ECU from getting too loud a signal from the ignition amp.

I had the same problem(no injector duration when hot, restarting)i have the resistor inline though, terminal was green & corrodedMy circuit diagram also doesn't show a resistor. Where should it be and did all cars have one ?
thanks
problem came all of a sudden, was one of those jobs i diagnosed quickly(more luck than anything,i was parked on the side of the road at the time)
