I am planning to go down the ATB diff route and am running moderately sticky slicks. As the Diff will presumably, under some circumstances send a larger proportion of the available power to one wheel I was wondering if the standard drive shafts will be challenged. Rumour has it that someone was / is making updated ones, anybody got info on this? While the back end is apart if may be a good time to fit some if they are not too expensive. Engine is only arroung the 300bhp mark so not running big power.

I've got a set of GKN uprated ones (two sets actually - the first ones were too springy) which weren't particularly expensive, so they're definitely available. I suggest you try the ones you already have and see what happens. They'll soon let you know if they aren't up to the job.

Steve, the originals should be good for up to 400hp,your stub axles will shear first.

In practice the half shafts do go from time to time, never heard of stub axle failure. The circlip grooves are the main problem IMO.
