Went to start the griff, no-go, motor turns over but not firing. Found no noise from fuel pump, stuck a 12v feed direct to the pump and it was ok, swapped the two metal relays over but still no joy, what now guys? john.

What happens when you use the plipper to undo the doors? SOunds like the immobiliser not disabling but I've no idea how to fault-find it.

I'm a bit confused here John.If the one fuel pump relay was duff, then you've now put it in place of the ecu relay?

Thanks for the ideas guys, I just found a 15A fuse blown [ one of the fuses that are floating on the wiring to the ecu] replaced and the engine fired up, PHEW!! cheers John.

Make sure you know which fuse it is (main or fuel), so if it goes again you can start looking for the root cause.

G,day Dave, been in the garage again, the two relays operate with the 15A fuse removed [the one I replaced] but no fuel pump. With the 20A fuse removed the relays dont work; does this mean the 20A one is the main one? Is 15A the correct size for the pump or should it be a 20A, cheers, John.

The fuel relay and fuse have purple wires IIRC ( worth labeling them up with masking tape for the future I reckon).. Cant remember the ratings OTOMH, but 10a main & 25a fuel seems to stick in my mind, sure someone will advise, if not I'll have a look later. You really don't want to be blowing fuses for the ECU ~ its delicate enough without tempting fate hehe

Thanks Dave, if anyone knows the fuse ratings for the two fuses on the wiring loom for the ecu and fuel pump let me know, John.

John,
A suggestion would be to replace all fuses with the flashing type so you can easily spot when one has blown. It also makes it easier to target for removal especially on the fuseboard.
Steve Heath is selling sets of them.
