Double Valve Springs

Do I need special lifters with D V Ss. I am looking to replace the ones on the 450 due to very slight scoring. Cant tell if the ones in there are heavy duty / race spec or what. I have posted this here on the Grief forum cus you lot spend all you time on this sort of thing.

Spring spec & valve train is dependent mainly upon the cam installed, and TVRs have had rather a lot in them... I can only recall std lifters being used, apart from upgrades. My early 430 has double valve springs & std lifters, even tho I would like solids & RRs

Hi Darren Not much help on valve springs I'm afraid. I can't believe it was nearly a year ago I bought the Griff off you. How's the Wedge? CRAIG

Hi Craig .. yes time flies when your havin fun The 450 is in 100s of bits at the min, just trying to find a few more horses to get me to 300 !!

You'll be pleased to learn that the valve/springs in your picture look almost identical to mine - from a Rolls Royce Merlin (ex Hurricane)!

Std lifters are fine with heavy valve springs, and I think I've seen V8 dev posting somewhere thats all he uses , give him a call I'd say

Looks like the head from the 4.3 .. rather than a 4.5 BV
