Red Griffith 500 V456 DAH
Discussion
It's certainly taking some shifting. It's been on e-bay a couple of times. If you can live with the history,or lack of it then it's a good buy. Sportmotive have a good reputation, I have no experience of them, but judging by comments on here the bodyshop is superb, so I would imagine it looks stunning. They also do chassis restorations so I would guess if they say it's a good chassis it probably will be. Go on you know you want to!!
I've been to see this Griff. and have had a test drive in it. I've looked at 11 so far but still to buy one. The car was offered to me at £14.5K so is much cheaper now. The paint job is the best I have seen and is flawless, so why did I not buy it. Well, I'm told every Griff drives in a different manner and I had trouble getting the gears with this one, the shift was quite heavy. It pulled very well, perhaps the engine was a little noisier than some I've viewed but it has done 56K. For me it is not the year but the overall condtion I'm looking for and drivability. Some water stains on the carpets but rest of interior very good. Chassis very good, critical parts had been refinished in black anti chip paint. I was tempted at £12.5K but have another one in mind at the moment.
Bloody hell Melvyn I thought you would have found one by now( been following/stalking your posts) Looks like I could be looking for a long time
At least you confirmed my suspicions about a top spray job
edit to say you're right Ian that's how rumours do start

Hi boys, its funny how rumours get started on here! suddenly my car now has drivetrain problems! it doesn't! you just have to use the clutch when changing gear like in most cars! sorry Melvyn but you just need to be a bit more progressive with your left foot mate. Thanks for all the positive comments on the paintwork though, reason its not sold is time of year and lack of official service history, other than that the car is mint, but hey, if its doesn't sell I will just have to keep using it next year, what a chore!

Yes mate I do you can have some with pleasure. Its ready thinned basecoat (just what I had left in my gun at the end of the job) so you will need to touch in with that and then a touch of clear laquer over the top once its dry, I'll sort it out for you.
Thanks Ian, a star! I'll drop you an email
talking of cheap 500's this car i thought was very cheap see link below

If that's Ruby Mica Red you're talking about, I need some for stone-chip touch up. Any idea where I can get some?tvrbob said:
